A Microsoft technology based platform, the UpToDate Editorial Platform utilizes a range of
technologies to deliver world class document editing and management capabilities to our content
Reporting into Wolters Kluwer UpToDate's Manager Software Engineering, this role is critical in
transforming a successful product into a platform supporting multiple product lines. The manager
is responsible for the management, mentoring, and quarterly performance appraisal of the team's
software developers. Additionally, the manager is responsible for working with other team leads
to ensure that the larger agile team works efficiently and accurately to meet product deliverables.
Working with the Manager Software Engineering and architects, investigate technologies and implement proofs of concept to inform the emerging Editorial platform architecture.
Assume complete ownership, including API design, implementation and documentation, working closely with software test engineers to ensure high quality.
Work within a DevOps culture to consider the scalability, performance, and deployment needs of applications.
Work with application teams to determine requirements for Editorial Platform.
Plan and execute tasks within an Agile/Scrum environment.
Guide and mentor more junior software developers.
Contribute to and advocate best practices and standards for both coding and software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum.
Remain current with evolving industry trends and technologies.
OTHER DUTIES: Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience in web development working with Microsoft technology
stack (C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET CORE, WEB API, MVC, Entity Framework, ADO.NET,
Enterprise Library. MS SQL Server), with 2+ years' experience at a principle engineer level is required.
Strong collaboration skills and desire to work in a highly collaborative environment.
Tolerant of high degrees of ambiguity, good at resolving uncertainty, willing to backtrack and seek multiple solutions.
Experience with Single page web application, NodeJs, React, Redux, Angular2, TypeScript, Bootstrap, WebPack, SASS , NPM, Dragula, CK Editor, Angular2 Material, ng2-toastr
Experience with Web API, API design and REST principles.
Experience with GIT and Jira.
Experience with SOA or Microservices is desired.
Experience with relational databases required, familiarity with other database technologies
including NoSQL a plus.
Knowledge of Unix, Linux, PERL, Apache, Tomcat and Repliweb is a plus.
Knowledge of common design patterns, design principles and industry best practices.
Experience with unit and integration testing. * Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and listening), with ability to build positive working relationships across multiple groups within the organization.
Good judgment, strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, and a finely tuned balance of technical purity and pragmatism.
Good at working at an abstract level and creating abstractions that clarify and contribute to system integrity across the enterprise. * Ability to grasp an existing codebase and identify opportunities to improve.

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:
Industry experience in the health care sector is a plus.
Technology Certifications is a plus.
