Summary of Position

The Drug File Acquisition Associate is a critical position in a team of individuals who maintain and support all domestic drug product and pricing listings. This critical position has the foundational function of acquiring critical clinical data in addition to product and pricing details which drives not only the creation of multiple drug file solutions but is the initial component of all drug screening and clinical content.

This aggregate team is responsible for over 25K new products (each with 30+ data points)/ year, around 35K price updates annually, and thousands of other updates. This individual will acquire all incoming drug product and pricing information received from pharmaceutical manufacturers, reviews for completeness and adherence to company policy, and prepares for downstream processing of the information. This activity occurs on a strict timeline for daily product file deliveries and customer SLAs. This involves frequent contact with manufacturers, planning and organization, tact, persuasion, and often includes educating the manufacturer contact. This individual as part of this team will be responsible for meeting multiple SLA (service level agreements) for pricing and drug product updates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain pharmaceutical, device, and over-the-counter manufacturer contact databases with critical processing information and essential company contacts.

  • Develop strong relationships with manufacturer contacts.

  • Research and acquire all drug information needed to complete data audits and customer requests.

  • Participate as support for drug file and clinical content audits to maintain currency and accuracy.

  • Must be highly organized and perseverant with contacting manufacturers.

  • Maintains documentation for historical reference and evidence of editorial decisions.

  • Adheres to a strict timeline for processing a high volume of data and information while working independently under pressure of a daily deadline.

  • Adapts to frequent changes in workload and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.

  • Displays flexibility, patience, organization, and professionalism.

  • Maintains professional relationship within the company and with outside business contacts.

  • Performs a variety of duties with interruptions and/or distractions.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences or related field or equivalent experience (2+ years' experience with drug data in place of a degree)

  • High school diploma

  • 2+ years' experience with drug data or Electronic Medical Records (preferred)

  • Microsoft Office Applications

  • Critical thinking

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to quickly identify critical trends as well as data abnormalities

  • Ability to work under strict deadlines

  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills (required)
